This is the first book in a trilogy on Shiva, the simple man whose karma re-cast him as our Mahadev, the God of Gods. First book of the trilogy, the Immortals tale unfolds in Meluha, a land that is ruled by the Suryavanshi tribe that firmly believes in the prophecy of 'Neelkanth' Shiva being their saviour. Is the rough-hewn Tibetan immigrant Shiva, really that hero?ĭrawn suddenly to his destiny, by duty as well as by love, will Shiva lead the Suryavanshi vengeance and destroy evil? An intense story 'The Immortals of Meluha' draws heavily from stories and legends of Hindu mythology that have been passed on from generation to generation. The only hope for the Suryavanshis is an ancient legend: ‘When evil reaches epic proportions, when all seems lost, when it appears that your enemies have triumphed, a hero will emerge.’ So while I was reading the book I could visualize the film that it was going to be. The entire book seemed to me like a readymade script. :D Hangout with close friends a nice place called Howzzat in GGN. In response to his surprising smile, I had to say it was my day-off. The ticket checker started recognizing me as it was the same Audi & same seat for all the 3 shows. To make matters worse, the Chandravanshis appear to have allied with the Nagas, an ostracised and sinister race of deformed humans with astonishing martial skills. Recently I’ve dinished reading the first installment of the Shiva trilogy- The immortals of Meluha. Watched 3-movies back-to-back in 3-D: Cars 2 + Kung-Fu panda 2 + Transformers 3. They also face devastating terrorist attacks from the east, the land of the Chandravanshis.

This once proud empire and its Suryavanshi rulers face severe perils as its primary river, the revered Saraswati, is slowly drying to extinction. The inhabitants of that period called it the land of Meluha – a near perfect empire created many centuries earlier by Lord Ram, one of the greatest monarchs that ever lived. The Immortals of Meluha is the first book in the trilogy that chronicles the journey of this extraordinary hero. In what modern Indians mistakenly call the Indus Valley Civilisation.
